Welcome to my workaway page! I'm Arianne, originally from British Columbia, Canada, but now live in Montreal. I have recently finished my Social Work degree in April 2024, and I'm ready to travel solo again.
I am a 24-year old that is embarking on a one-year solo female backpacking trip around Europe, West Africa and wherever life will take me. I am a very open minded and sociable person, always ready to try new things. I truly believe that while traveling, and in general, it's important give something good back to this world and to get to know it even more. I like to be confronted with new, exciting things and love to step out of my comfort zone. I always strive to dive into other people's lives and become a part of it for a certain amount of time... the local way! I am very grateful for this period of my life, and I hope to meet amazing people around the world that can make this experience an unforgettable one.
In 2018, I embarked on a 14-month journey across Europe, North Africa and East Africa. During this time, I voluntereed in numerous schools and engaged in various charitable work. Upon my return to Quebec, I started a non-profit organization called "One Heart To Another", dedicated to supporting families in need across Africa (you can find us on Instagram and Facebook). Now that I am planning on traveling again, I would love to dedicate more time to my non-profit and connect with incredible individuals to collaborate with, learn new skills, and work together on numerous projects, in the objectif to help vulnerable people around the world.
My experience:
Social work, humanitarian work, mental health, teaching french/english, caregiving, social media, cooking, sports coach, receptionnist duties and house cleaning.
My passions/interests:
Cultures, connecting with people from diverse backgrounds, new aventures, outdoor activities, yoga, running, cooking, languages and humanitarian work.
I would love to meet new people and create meaningful experiences.
I speak french and english fluently but my goal is to learn either arabic, wolof or spanish during this trip!
Au plaisir de vous rencontrer!
