Hey,
I’m Anna, I’m 23, I was born in Berlin and grew up on the country side of Germany. I was raised bilingual (german-spanish) until I was 6, since im half Ecuadorian :).

I’m back in Berlin since nearly 8 years now, and am studying “Culture And Technology“ at the moment with the main focus in philosophy at the Technical University in Berlin. I’m dreaming of living overseas after my degree!

I am thrilled and emotional to go back to South America for the next months, since I always felt more myself and at home there. I miss my grandparents terribly who we used to visit in Ecuador in my childhood, until they both were taken unexpectedly fast due to illnesses. That way my connection to the continent was kind of cut and fills my heart with a ton much of joy and excitement to be able to reconnect now, to get to know other parts of South America and practice my now sadly rusty Spanish (I understand everything, but the words get stucked in my head often).

The ocean gives me hope and fear and love. I'd like to learn to surf soon, only had the opportunity to try it out once in Sri Lanka.
I like to write, read out loud for loved ones and I like to cook, preferably for a lot of people, since it makes me happy when they like it.
My favorite South American dishes are Bolón like my abuelo used to do it, just with mashed ripe platanos and peanut butter and Empanadas like my abuela did them, with queso con cebollas.

I’m really fond of projects that try to reduce their waste and recycle und take care of the environment. My dream as a child used to be to invent a machine to filter all the plastic garbage islands out of the oceans.. While this is an incredibly huge task for one person I’m working and organizing with other climate activists to organize demonstrations for better climate politics and to protect villages that are in danger to be dredged for coal.

Dogs have a special place in my heart, even though I never had one.

- cook (some South American dishes like bolon and empanadas or patacones, asian dishes like tteokbokki or vegetarian ramen soup. German dishes like Potato gratin or mashed potatoes. Also selfmade Pizza and so on). I also like to bake cakes or make selfmade chocolate candy and desserts.
