Hi everyone!

My name is Anna, I am 23 years old and from Germany. At the moment, I am doing an internship via Erasmus at a primary school in Porto where I teach children in 3rd grade.
Back in Germany, I finished my bachelors degree in teaching and will continue with my masters in October. My internship in Porto ends in June and I would love to use the time before going home to travel, help out in projects, learn about other cultures and meet new interesting people.

I really enjoy working on farms and am good with animals, especially horses. I´ve been riding and caring for horses since I was little. During hoidays, I usually work on a horse ranch where children can pass their vacation and learn how to ride. Caring for the horses and other farm animals, looking after and playing with the children, preparing their meals and teaching them riding skills belong to my jobs there.
I also have experiences with training youg horses and working at tournament stables.

After finishing my A-levels in Germany, I did one year of volunteering at a monkey sanctuary in England which rescues and rehabilitates monkeys suffering from the pet trade. At the sanctuary, my tasks included on the one hand caring for the monkeys (feeding, cleaning, observing, creating enrichment items, building enclosures..), on the other hand educating the public about the primate pet trade in the UK, giving workshops about animal care, going to schools teaching children playfully about enviromental consciousness and our work as a charity.
As I´ve been working on different ranches and volunteered at the rescue center for monkeys, I know and like hard and physical work.

Also, I love working with people, especially children. I am experienced in babysitting as well as planning activities for bigger groups of kids.
Before starting my studies to become a teacher, I completed my apprenticeship as an adventure and outdoor educationist with the organisation "erlebnistage". I did adventurous activities with school classes in nature as teambuilding measurements to improve their self confidence and social skills. These activities included for example climbing, hiking, canoeing, sleeping outside in the forest and coocking on the campfire.

Besides, I gave private lessons to students in English, German and Math.
During my studies in teaching, I have already worked as a teacher at a primary school.

I have already lived in communal households from 3 up to 20 people from all over the world, so I learned to be very tolerant and am used to sharing bedrooms. Cultural exchange became very important to me and inspired me to keep on traveling.

As you might have noticed while reading, I am an active person who loves being in nature. I enjoy many kinds of outdoor sports such as Triathlon, beach volleyball and during my stay in Portugal I discovered surfing as my new hobby.

I would describe myself as a teamworker, an open-minded, uncomplicated and helpful person, I´m friendly and a hard worker. Furthermore, I´m sporty, always up for adventure and exploring, but also like cosy evenings, cooking communal meals, talking and playing games.

More details about my language interests
I can teach German and also English. As I learned French in school but unfortuntely didn't get a chance to practice afterwards, I would love to refresh it and talk French to somebody. Also, I am trying to learn Portugese at the moment and would be happy if somebody could help me with that.
