Connecting with people and finding or cultivating spaces to nourish the inner child. I'll be starting my workaway journey with a very unpolished set of skills which I hope to hone as I engage with different people in different communities whilst learning about different cultures and ways to be. I want to try my hardest to diminish my ignorances and internalised prejudices through exposure to the world and its people.

I have recently graduated with honours from the university of Glasgow having studied English Language & Linguistics - gaining a lot of skills through my studies such as statistical inferencing and data processing as well as effective research and comprehension skills . Having worked in hospitality for the majority of my time in Glasgow my interpersonal skills and communication skills have improved considerably. I have done various bouts of volunteering in the past from building houses and digging irrigation channels in Peru to retail work in a local charity store, to cooking and gardening at a community cafe. I have experience working with and supervising younger children as a former senior member of the boys brigade. Additionally, I would consider myself a very competent cook and baker as I both enjoy the processes involved as well as the opportunity to create something nourishing for people.

What else ...

I really enjoy anything and everything food! I love cooking for people and experiencing new flavours. I also really enjoy baking and have baked many different kinds of bread over the years to varying degrees of success. I enjoy hiking and camping and have been fortunate to be able to do this more in recent times. I enjoy writing and typically write poetry although occasionally will string together some prose. I love dancing and I hope I get the chance to dance a lot whilst I'm travelling.
