Hi, I am Alina, a 23-year-old from Germany who loves learning languages and travelling. One year ago, I finished my master's degree in Philosophy & Literature and I have a great passion for reading and learning new things. In my free time I also enjoy playing the guitar, singing, and sewing.
So far, I've had the privilege of living abroad in Spain and Ireland, working at a language school in Barcelona for one year and getting my MA in Dublin the year after. The experiences I've made living abroad and travelling have had a profound impact on me, especially through meeting so many amazing people from different cultures who showed me new perspectives on life :)
Other than German, I speak English and Spanish fluently. I'm also learning Catalan, currently on an intermediate level. I'd love to take my Catalan to the next level, so finding someone to practice with would be lovely!
Growing up I was a scout and I spent a lot of time during my teenage years exploring Europe by train and hiking. There is something really special about taking only the most rudimenary equipment on a trip and cooking your meals over the campfire, which sparked my passion for nature and travelling. I really miss being in nature and I'd love to spend more time outdoors, for example helping out on a farm. I also love animals, as I grew up horse riding and with cats.
I have been back to Germany and working a 9 to 5 job at a language school for one year now. What I love about my current job is that I get to talk to people from all over the world every day! But after one year at the office, writing emails and updating Excel sheets, I’m longing for something more meaningful. January 31st will be my last day at my office job and I’m looking for workaway opportunities starting from February 2025! :)
