Nice to meet you, I'm Alice, but you can call me Ali! Explaining who you are in just a couple of sentences isn't easy, but I'll try my best!
I'm 22 years old and I come from a small town near Florence, Italy. After graduating from high school I moved to Milan to study Biology and to pursue my dream of being an artist. I consider myself an eclectic person since my interests are so many and all very different.
I love studying and all things science, but I also love writing and reading. I actually published a little poetry book here in Italy! I have also studied theatre and cinema in my last years because acting is an other form of expression that I love.
Having all these passions and feeling the need to explore myself and the world I decided to take a gap year after my Bachelor's degree in 2022. I really wanted to think about life, about choices, about what really makes me happy and is worth investing in in my life. Due to traumas and past experiences my teenager years weren't the best and I have developped a sort of rush to live and do things without even stopping to listen to myself. So I took this time to rediscover who I am. Travelling has been and is a great part of this path. It allows me to be nobody around the world, meet so many different people and hear so many stories and gain a new perspective about how life works. Right now, I'm looking for a place a bit further from Europe and Italy to challenge myself in a completely new situation. I'm a really energetic and creative person, who loves to spend time with people but also loves to have some alone-time. I'm looking forward to being myself in so many different places of the world and living life at its fullest!

More details about my language interests
I've studied English all my life and at this point I'm pretty solid. But I would love to learn so many other languages and be able to communicate in the purest form with as many populations as possible. I would love to strengthen my German or start learning something completely new. I have some basis in Spanish and French so it would be interesting to work on that but every language is welcome! I could teach Italian or English in return and have a lot of fun in the meantime!

I'm very versitile and a fast-learner so whatever you need from me I can easily help!
As to my experience and skills I have done a variety of side jobs while attending university and in my free time I experiment with many different activities.

My university course included some projects abroad and internships that allowed me to 'work' as a researcher for some time. I spent three months in an electrophisiology laboratory and two weeks in the Maldives studying the coral reefs on the island where my university's research centre is built.

Apart from this specific background, I've worked for years as sales assistant, hostess and promoter which means I have great communicating and problem-solving skills.
I also worked as an actress in a couple of projects and I'm currently continuing studying in order to pursue my dream of having an acting career.
On a daily basis I work as a freelance translator, journalist and copywriter in many different areas. I' ve also opened a Youtube channel and I love vlogging and narrating my journey week by week.

When talking about more concrete skills, I am a very athletic and resilient person so I have no problem doing hard manual work or similar tasks. In my teenage years I've spent some time volunteering in various situations: with homeless people, with people with disability, in mafia confiscated territories and so on... Moreover, I spent some time in a Buddhist monastery in Italy where we used to do community work (cooking for everybody, cleaning, gardening, construction works and much more).

Even though it may seem little experience I have gained a lot of on field experience and I'm always ready to listen and do my best!

What else ...

As you probably understood, I'm the most curious person I know and everything seems so fun and intersting to me!
Even though I've already talked about my main interests I can add some few notes about myself. I'm a huge sport person since I've always done something in my life. I've done swimming, athletics, kickboxing, gym, volleyball and I also go running and rockclimbing.
In the art field on the other hand I've experienced with many different means. I've played the piano, acted, written, painted and so on. Right now I'm experimenting a lot with photography and videomaking but anything could be next! And throughout my life I've never stopped writing (my dream is to write a great novel one day!).
Maybe it's enough about myself for now! :)
