I'm passionate about the natural world, working in horticulture and conservation. There's something deeply fulfilling about nurturing plants and contributing to environmental preservation.

I'm always eager to learn new skills and try activities I've never considered before. I recently started playing Javanese gamelan, which has introduced me to Indonesian culture and the joy of communal music-making.

What truly energizes me is experiencing different cultures firsthand and meeting people from diverse backgrounds. I spent a few months living on a remote Atlantic island, which reinforced my belief that there is a lot to learn from cultural exchange in new contexts. I'm motivated by personal growth and the belief that every person and place has something valuable to share.

Horticulture - 4 years in botanic gardens, and private work

Conservation - 6 months in New Zealand as volunteer, 4 years in botanic gardens, 4 months on St Helena Island as professional, 1 month MSc level field course with Tropical Biology Association in Uganda.

People skills - lots of public interaction and effective team working in my work, meeting with a wide range of personalities and cultural backgrounds.

Creative handiwork - in addition to being an art student for many years, lots of experience with simple woodwork, building and making things.
