  • Description

I'm a pretty hands on person and won't shy away from hard work. I am creative and skilled in painting and visual arty stuff, can paint things like murals or get involved in creative design, am handy with DIY projects and have some knowledge of what it means to live an off-grid self sufficient lifestyle, from experience working on the land for a medicinal garden in Portugal.

I love best living a life that feels connected to Earth, so enjoy being outside as much as possible. I take interest in learning how things work, and enjoy being in the company of good humans! And fun and laughter is always important :)

I've joined the Workaway family so I can ultimately lead a more fulfilling life, closer to nature, with like-minded people, putting time and attention into meaningful projects which, in the process, bring together good humans and create joy from the simple things in life.

I look forward to potentially Workawaying with you :)

  • More details about your skills

I love a good DIY project, having built several bits and bobs with scraps of wood and material, including a coffee table for the garden! I'm also a keen artist and most enjoy painting portraits of people. Last year I did a commission piece which was featured in a film.

Physical labour is also something I get great enjoyment out of, particularly in an environment rich in nature and connected to the land. I've helped out a couple of times on a local permaculture farm, doing odd jobs like planting and turning over the soil.

I actively volunteer for a Welfare and Harm Reduction charity, supporting individuals who may be going through challenging experiences at festivals and music events. After 2 years of volunteering with this charity, I now work as part of the core team helping with the logistics and coordination of the runnings of the organisation.

I currently tutor students on a freelance basis from ages 12+, and have been doing so over the past 7 years. This, alongside several years of acting as a gymnastics coach have given me plenty of experience working with children and young adults.

Qualifications wise, I studied Chemistry at University and have previously worked as a Data Engineer as well as a Science Communications Editor.

  • What else ...

I can play a mean game of Articulate! And I used to spring board diving and gymnastics, so enjoy doing things which harness these skills. Would love to be able to do any acrobatic type/yoga thing. I can juggle, and can also cross my big toe over my second toe... if that's of any use.
