  • Description

My name is Ali and I'm looking to take a break from hectic, excessively digital city life in London and spend some time connecting with new people, developing new skills and experiencing different ways of life. I love living in a big city and all that it has to offer, but I have been yearning for something new.

I'm new to Workaway but have previously travelled in Europe, Colombia and Japan. My plan is to spend autumn 2024 in Central America, most likely Mexico but I'll see where the wind takes me. I speak basic Spanish, which I'd like to improve, as well as conversational French and some Italian.

Food and music are my two biggest passions and I'm always looking to learn more about different cuisines and sounds across cultures. More generally, I'm up for outdoor, physically challenging adventures and want to contribute to whoever is kind enough to host me. I learn quickly, enjoy getting my hands dirty and love being with animals.

  • More details about your skills

I have experience doing manual labour - a lot of digging, chopping wood and carrying things. I take a lot of satisfaction from building things, furniture, walls, etc, but am less experienced with those. I'm also capable in the kitchen.

I have done over 100 hours of teaching in English, maths, sciences, history among other subjects to children from ages 7 to 16.
