  • Description

I am an adventurous, inquisitive and hardworking individual with a lust for life. I am happiest when immersed in nature, cooking yummy food for others, or snuggled up with a good book on the couch. I have a passion for volunteering and forging new connections with people of all walks of life. I am motivated to explore our beautiful planet, and the people and places it contains, while making a meaningful difference to our environment. I am flexible by nature and will happily turn my hand to tasks both manual and theoretical.

More details about my language interests
For my entire life I have had a strong inclination towards language learning. I grew up in an English-speaking household/area but through a series of efforts, I managed to reach a high level of proficiency in the Irish language or Gaeilge. I studied French for six years in secondary school, reaching intermediate level, and studied Spanish to a basic level. I would like to improve my standard in both of these languages, and am always open to learning new languages too. I enjoy teaching language and the sense of connection that a language exchange creates.

  • More details about your skills

I have worked in the hospitality industry in Ireland as a waitress/bartender which taught me many useful skills that I find transferable to other aspects of my life, namely teamwork and working in a fast paced environment. I am also a qualified lifeguard and my experience working in this sector gave me invaluable first aid skills, effective communication and a better understanding of people. I have also partaken in an ESC project in Spain where I worked on combatting rural depopulation with 18 other volunteers. I honed my manual skills during this time through the mediums of gardening, renovations and general maintenance while developing soft skills such as communication and teamwork. Some of my personal abilities include: reading liberally, writing both functionally and creatively, learning languages, playing sports, playing the piano and guitar, cooking and baking, problem solving and generally having a proactive approach in life

  • What else ...

I love to watch films, read books and play boardgames with others. My favourite hobbies are those that involve being active or engaged with nature; swimming in the sea brings me particular joy and relaxation or watching the sunset with a cup of tea in hand. I enjoy conversing with others and will often seek out interactions that involve storytelling or sharing of experiences but I am equally content to quietly ruminate and reflect together :)
