I'm am really interested in making things sustainably and am also vegan. I have worked in retail, and volunteered at cycling events, an animal shelter and community shop but have never worked abroad before. I love traveling in Europe and am keen to work there and meet new people and gain new experiences! I'm always keen to help inspire others and discuss creative work with practical outcomes. I work well in teams both delegating tasks and getting on with them and also on my own.

  • More details about your skills

I have a broad skill set ranging from creative thinking to cooking and cleaning. I have undertaken many DIY projects and am familiar with a workshop and can use most power tools, most of why experience is with sanding and painting wood but can plane, saw and drill too. Some projects I’ve undertaken include rejuvenating an oak dining table, renovating bedside tables, spay painting curtain poles, pond building. I love to decorate and have done lots over the past 10 years from bedrooms to bathrooms, kitchens, woodwork, cupboards, floors, doors and windows and the outside of the house. I have also built lots of furniture and rebuilt it without instructions and enjoy the problem solving of that. I have also put new light switches and shades up (with wiring having some help from our handyman showing me) and reframed pictures.Recently I built a stool from reclaimed materials as part of my architecture degree. In the garden I have built a new path with liner and gravel and quite green fingered having many houseplants too. This year I have been working for a family friend in the garden helping to compost, maintain veg patches, mow, plant bulbs and line a greenhouse.

Through my architecture degrees I have picked up many creative and practical skills. I have a design focussed eye that needs things to be practical too. I enjoy creative problem solving and find it incredibly rewarding working towards something as a team. Whilst I like things to be aesthetically pleasing, I also know how materials go together in buildings, from roofs to walls and am especially interested in historic buildings and natural/traditional materials/techniques. Recently I undertook a building workshop with lime plaster and wood fibre insulation to make buildings thermally perform better. I use the Adobe suite a lot, especially InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator for design and presentation work. Due to the nature of the profession I am dedicated and hardworking and love seeing a project finished and reaping the rewards of the work of myself and/or team. My time management, communication skills and organisation have also been important in and outside of university as last year I worked in firm with teams ranging from just myself to 4 and 10+ in university.

I have been making meals and baking since I was 11 and have been learning and trying new things ever since. I am vegan and that has opened up a whole new world of foods and taught me a lot about nutrition. I love to try new things to expand my palette and can follow recipes or make something up, I see it as another creative outlet.

Last summer I managed my neighbours AirBnB for a time periods ranging from 5 days to a month. I checked people in, cleaned and changed over the property and responded to guests’ requests and messages. I also look after their dog, cat, fish and goats.
