Hi I am a student that is looking to travel and expand my horizons before I head off to university in October 2022 . I love travelling as it allows you to experience and try new things that have the potential to change your life and take you out of your comfort zone. I have completed several previous workaways across South America where i spent six months solo travelling. I am a very sporty person that enjoys physical challenges and working as a team however I am just as eager to get my head down and work by myself . I enjoy meeting new people and having a laugh and I like to think I have a good sense of humour, although my family may say otherwise !

I have worked in a kitchen for three years as a kitchen porter however I often had to plate dishes and do starters and desserts as the restaurant was very busy . This means I am very familiar with the hospitality industry. in addition I have experience working in the Marriott hotel chains and as a waiter/behind a bar. This means I have the skills and ability to tend to guest needs in a customer service role and understand the quality of service needed to keep customers happy and coming back for more. I have also laboured for six months and have picked up a lot of skills while doing jobs such as : mixing concrete , laying paving , stonework and using a variety of tools both power and normal . I've spent time teaching English in Colombia where I led my own classes and created lessons so I am patient and able to think on my feet in stressful situations as I often had to find ways to explain difficult concepts using a combination of English and Spanish. I have played sport my whole life ( mainly rugby ) so I am physically strong and fit as well as very comfortable working in a team environment with competing personalities, but I am just as capable to put my head down and work by myself . I work calmly under pressure and have the ability to make on the spot decisions . I enjoy a challenge shown by the fact I volunteered for a charity in Uganda when I was 14 where I helped in a local school and village it was a life changing experience and an opportunity I am extremely glad I took .

What else ...

As I live in Cornwall I love to be by and in the sea and am very comfortable in the water and can surf to a basic level . I love animals and have two dogs and chickens myself so am used to having animals around the house . as I previously mentioned I have played rugby my whole life and have managed to play at a academy level so would love to play if there was a local club .
