I cherish each memory I made during my first workaway experience with Laura and the family. I am so grateful to the entire family, including Nonna, who welcomed me with such a warm embrace ❤️. My day started with taking Penny (lovely dog) out for a walk and later Perla and I (and sometimes Diana) went either to the Trenino or to the small park within the Pineta. When we stayed indoors, Perla and I enjoyed many creative plays like pongo (play-doh), hide and seek, building jenga towers, solving puzzles, colouring, and bouncing on the trampoline (Perla’s favourite activity, which she never tires of! 😅). She is such a cutie ❤️, always full of energy, and gives great hugs 🥰. For such a young child, her cleaning skills are top notch! Some days in the Trenino, she would take charge and organise the mess other children had made. It was so adorable to watch 😂.

Diana was my go-to uno and drawing partner. She is good at singing, dancing, drawing and so much more. Together, we sang Ed Sheeran’s songs, listened to K-Pop, and shared countless laughs and memories. She is also a really kind elder sister to Perla 🫶🏼. Seeing them together reminded me of my nieces who, like Diana, are huge BlackPink fans. She really is the sweetest and has a beautiful energy ❤️.

Laura and Paolo are excellent hosts. Their house is beautiful and well kept so I tried my best to respect all the house rules which honestly is not that difficult of a task. Every time they went grocery shopping, they would bring some gluten-free foods for me 🫶🏼. Laura and I had some engaging conversations as she was always curious to know about my culture and so many other things. She cooked delicious meals and would even help me with my laundry. I also got to celebrate Nonna’s birthday with other members of the family and it’s one of my happy memories 😄.

I’d happily stay with them again and would recommend them to anyone who’s looking for a welcoming and enjoyable workaway experience. Viareggio, with its stunning beaches and beautiful sunsets, is an ideal city (has easy connections) for those wanting to travel around Tuscany and Liguria. My five weeks there flew by so quickly that I was a little sad when I left because I knew I’d miss the girls and the summer I spent there 🥺.
