Hi my name is Sophie! I am about to graduate from the German International School Washington DC and I want to go explore the world before I start veterinary university! For now, I’ve only really gotten to know the US and Germany as most of my family lives there. I have a good sense of what direction I want my life to go in but I want to see what opportunities are out there and what kind of people I can meet. I love going out to explore nature and swimming in waterfalls or hiking. Animals have always also been a big part of life. I love to go horseback riding and helping out at the local barn where I care for the horses and teach lessons. My family and I also take care of feral cats and get them used to humans. I really enjoy hanging out with my friends and if there isn’t already music playing I add some with my guitar. If I’m not outside then I also like making handmade items like crocheting. I am open to take on new challenges and to learning as much as possible. I am excited to meet new people, have new experiences, and along the way get to know myself a little better!

More details about your skills
I am bilingual with English and German and working on improving my Spanish. At the barn I not only learned how care for animals all year around but I also work with all different types of people and teach them how to understand the animals better. I have also volunteered and protested for environmental issues. We can also play guitar together!

What else ...
I've been a volunteer at a wildlife refuge center and have loved the vet internship program. I've learned how to take care of all sorts of wildlife and pay close attention to their health. Currently I am giving guided tours at a butterfly and frog conservatory and teaching visitors about the animals and surrounding nature.
