Hi there,
My name is Solène. I am and English teacher (ESL) in France and my husband (Cyril) is a music teacher, we both teach in middle schools in the suburbs of Paris. We have two kids (our son is 16 1/2 and our daughter is 14). We are looking for a new workaway experience with children. We are both teachers so we are only free during the "french" holidays.
We both speak English (and French of course), our children can speak but they're still learning...
Gabrielle learns Spanish at school and Hugo has been learning German.
Our workaway experience during the summer 2018 in the US was really amazing.
Travelling differently and showing our children that travelling is not only the "touristic way" was really a great experience. Immersion, whether it is language, family life, work...I think is the best and we really want to show our children that.
Our son Hugo (who will turn 17 in September) loves basketball, he plays all the time, everywhere. He's completing his "BAFA" (it's a certification to become a summer camp instructor). Both our children are really sporty. Gabrielle (who turned 14 in February) loves sports, she runs a lot and plays handball at school and in a club so that's about 10 hours a week. She broke her wrist in March so she can't play right now. She got her cast removed so she's going back to training sessions but still can't touch a ball!
As for me, I love photography (really not a pro!! I just really enjoy taking photos), I looooooove reading and hiking. We moved 1 year 1/2 ago and we now have a garden and I garden a little - I'm really learning, it's completely new for me, but I really enjoy it and would love to learn more for people who do know. :-)
Cyril plays the piano all day when he's not at work or in the garden.
We are a curious and outgoing family, we love having long conversations over dinner with friends, we like to play board games and we especially like to learn new things.

We are an outgoing, curious and enthusiastic family, willing to have a cultural exchange. Ready to participate in family life and help with young children. Ideally looking for another family with children (teens) so they could spend time with eachother and learn from eachother.
We love to travel (outside the touristic trails). We have friends in the US and we try and go there to visit. Last time was in February 2024. We have lived abroad (US - Virginia and Canada, Vancouver) and as my brother lives in London, we also try to go there as much as we can.
We understand that hosting 4 people is not easy but Hugo and Gabrielle are old enough to help around too. Gabrielle often rides horses so she can help with that. They both like animals, and Cyril has had quite a few animals when he was young. I haven't, but I love to groom horses and take care of animals (if you show me what to do).
We would love to discover Portugal, Denmark and other parts of Canada.
