  • Description

We are a family of three, Lo, Heron and Eris (2 years old) from a small town in BC Canada. We have hosted WWOOFers and Helpexers while we were running a tourism business and more recently Workawayers to help with projects around our property. We used to travel most winters but with covid and then starting a family it has been a while since we have been out of the country but we are excited to go out in the world again and have some new experiences! We both have many skills that we think would be helpful, we ran a boat charter business together for many years, we have a large garden, raise ducks for eggs, geese, and chickens for meat, goats for milk and we have had horses, pigs and turkeys in the past. We both grew up on boat access only off-grid islands and are very familiar with alternative lifestyles as well as solar, micro-hydro, water systems, etc. We have built our own house and shop as well as a few other houses, cabins (both on and off grid), a B&B, and one floating lodge! We both have professional vehicle and boating licenses and have experience with welders, chainsaws, forklifts, skidsteers, tractors and diggers as well as all the usual shop and wood frame construction tools.

We recently hosted a family with a 2 and a 4 year old and we all had a really good time so we thought maybe for our next trip we should do something similar and find a family in an interesting location with young kids who would be interested in hosting us!

For hobbies Lo does pottery, gardens, and takes care of the animals and Heron builds things in the shop, cooks and tries to stay up to date on new tech. For fun we do lots of boating in our 38' cabin cruiser as well as hiking, fishing and hunting for our local deer. We like to eat good quality food, mostly organic grown on our own property or caught in the wild nearby.
