    I am currently

    Travelling

  • Description

One way or another I have always found ways to travel either as a tourist, a student, or someone who's just passing through. I believe that we as people have an inalienable responsibility to learn from one another's cultures, traditions, and choices. Workaway, for me, is an opportunity to learn how I can effectively participate in global communities, experience what is still unknown to me, and continue to cultivate cross-cultural relations. I have always had an innate desire to travel and I am committed to pursuing every opportunity that allows me to do so. Being a part of a team and a community, not only locally but globally, fills me with so much joy and it would truly be an honor to participate in yours.

  • More details about your skills

I have recently been traveling through Central and South America and have volunteered at Paradiso Hostel, Bigfoot Hostel and Volcano Boarding, Boca en Boca/Oasis Hostel, Lost in San Jose Hostel, and now I am currently at Aqua Lounge. I have been a bartender, party promoter, tour guide, event organizer, receptionist, and more. Furthermore, I love a good art project and I have a passion for cooking and learning.

I’ve worked in hospitality most of my life so I’m adept at tending to a variety of customers' wants and needs. I’ve also played roller derby (a sports team) for over a decade and currently volunteer with Blue Ridge Roller Derby, not only as a player and captain but as a member of the Recruitment and Retention Committee and ILC (Inter League Committee). Furthermore, I recently graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Anthropology which has helped me develop skills in written and oral communication, and be able to think logically, critically, and analytically through a variety of situations. I have a strong working knowledge and understanding of the travel industry and have the know-how to improvise when presented with uncertainty. Just as I’ve come to understand the importance of how and why we travel, I would be honored to help others do the same.

  • What else ...

I've played a sport called Roller Derby since I was 11, I've always loved a good challenge or competition. I also love a good adventure, animals, and foods, especially if I get to try something new. Now that I've graduated uni I'm just really excited to start this new chapter in my life.
