Hello! My name is Sarena, and I am looking for a place to call home in the Philippines.

I'm currently backpacking in Thailand; additionally, I have spent the past year traveling while working. I have professional experience with cooking, cleaning, multitasking, and customer service. I also have experience in home improvement projects and gardening.

My ultimate goal for my time in the Philippines is to experience the country in a more authentic way. I want to really get to know life in another country and all the unique challenges and experiences that come with it. I am comfortable with all types of accommodations, and open to any job where I can apply my skills effectively.

On a more personal note, I love hiking and all things outdoors, especially when it's shared with friends- old or new. I also enjoy cooking, reading, art, and learning languages.

One more thing, I am travelling with a close friend of mine named Miranda. We met a few years ago while working at Zion National Park Lodge and have been travelling together since. We're arriving in the Philippines in early December and looking to start as soon as possible. We would like to spend a few weeks in our future WorkAway.

Brandon and Joy were very hospitable hosts during our 2 weeks stay. We were allowed to choose what room at the hostel we wanted to stay in. The accommodation isn’t luxurious, but they provided us with eggs and drinking water which was very kind. Brandon also helped us arrange a snorkeling tour to see WWII shipwrecks which was a lot of fun!

Serena was awesome. We all loved her company and she was always joyful and fun to be with. She worked very hard clearing thick scrubby bush and didn't mind any difficult job I gave her (even dealing with a mower that kept breaking down). I highly, highly recommend Amanda. Her home is close to beautiful beaches, hikes, and town- but still feels like a peaceful escape. Amanda is an extremely kind and understanding host, I felt like I was joining a family rather than doing a work exchange. My stay with Izabella was a great introduction to Australia! Her home is in a beautiful, tranquil village with wild kangaroos (which was a huge bonus!). The village has nice swim spots and great for walks. The community center hosts events too, which is fun.
