Belgium - from Oct 2024 View allDescription
Hello!
My name is Sam. Though I have spent much of my life in the US, I am a Belgian citizen and my family has deep roots in the Limburg region. I am interested in relocating to Belgium to be closer to my family and learn Dutch through immersion. I have a college degree in Literature and have taught public school for many years. Recently I have launched a business repairing commercial equipment, and have picked up many technical skills along the way. My hobbies include working on small engines, growing vegetables, and performing music which I get to do regularly with full-time musicians where I currently live in Tennessee. My interests are turning towards permaculture and sustainability, and I would love to be involved in any projects that will provide me with an opportunity to learn skills in that field. That being said, I'm no stranger to hard work, and am quite comfortable in primitive or off-grid accommodations. I am not simply looking for a place to stay, but to learn about a new language and culture and to make long lasting connections. If you would like to know more about me, please don't hesitate to ask! -SamInterests

My primary interest is to learn Dutch through immersion. I am already studying and practicing daily, but would love to live and work around native speakers. I am of course fluent in English and am quite qualified to teach it, as I have done this professionally for a number of years. The focus of my college education was English Literature from 19th century through Modernism, and I have been a writing/editing resource for many.
