  • Description

Hi, my name is Salome, I'm 30.

I was absolutely not prepared to turn 30 so I decided to quit my job, my apartment and go back to Asia for 8 months to explore some more, meet new people, get to know better different cultures, and build on new skills.

I am very friendly, easy going and funny.
I love nature and nature related activities: hiking, cycling, swimming in river, snorkelling, kayaking...
I also love board games and playing pool.

I love to develop new skills and work, so I am always up for any kind of project! I particularly enjoy work like farming, tour guide, customer related or nature related.

I worked a bit in customer service during my studies and then became a French as a foreign language teacher, so I lived abroad for a while (London, Rome, Dublin, Phnom Penh...). I took a break from teaching and worked as a cheesemonger for one year and a half. Then I worked for three years as an instructional designer in Paris.
I am now looking forward to new job opportunities, especially as a tour guide (in eco-responsible tourism more broadly) or in organic farming.

I speak fluently French and English and I can have a basic conversation in Italian.

  • More details about your skills

I am a former French teacher (4 years) and instructional designer (3 years). I have a lot of experience in creating learning and teaching materials, as well as explaining things and talking to a large audience. Before travelling I had been focusing on producing tutorials (written documentation or videos) and training teachers on how to use online teaching softwares.
l also have experience in customer service. I worked in a cheese shop for a year in Ireland.
And last year, while travelling through Asia, I worked twice as a tour guide on a few Workaway experiences (Pepper farm in Kampot and dairy farm in Laos) and I simply loved it! I love to learn new things, I have a great memory, I learn quite fast and get really interested in things so I always go beyond, look for more info, especially fun facts to share with customers to make visits as entertaining, lively and fun as possible. For me it's a great way to combine my teaching skills with my love for learning and outdoor activities.

I am quite strong and sportive, so I am not afraid about working hard. I am craving for more manual work.
I have a bit of experience in gardening, cooking, and farming (I volunteered in an Organic Farm in Japan for couple of weeks).
I like to assemble furnitures and clean up places to make them look brand new.
And in general I just like to help out.

I also loooove animals! And I am a great buffalo masseuse.
