Jess : Rural environment - farming - equestrian - events
The best summary of my professional experience is on LinkedIn : https://www.linkedin.com/in/jessica-flack/
I have an undergraduate and masters degree in Environmental Science and Management, focusing on rural settings and agriculture. I spent the past two years working for the UK government's Environment Department. This included project management of research projects and advising farmers on environmental government subsidies. Before this, I spent 6 months volunteering in 2022 as an Environmental Project Coordinator in Moshi, Tanzania.
The other side of me is that I am a highly experienced horse-rider. I have been riding for over 20 years and spent approximately 10 years working part and full time with horses as a rider, stable manager, and competition event organiser. I ride English-style and have competed in dressage, showjumping, and cross country. I have ridden Western a few times and am very happy to adjust for the horse.
Ryan: Air pollution - urban environments
The best summary of my professional experience is on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ryan-thorpe1
I have an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science (2:1), with particular focuses on air pollution, climate change, and energy. I spent almost 6 years working as an environmental consultant for a private consultancy, focussing on the assessment of air quality and air pollution. This involved managing many projects at once for many different clients, having a detailed knowledge of relevant policies and guidance, and giving technical advice to comply with local and national legislation and reduce air pollution. I progressed to a senior consultant and leader of the environmental team in my time with this company. Leading the environmental team involved managing individuals, achieving financial targets, and getting the best out of the team collectively.
My hobbies include playing football, going to the gym, and the occasional run. Therefore, I’m more than happy to use my strength and fitness to get stuck in to physical tasks.Age
