Description

I'm a secondary school English teacher with over 14 years' experience working in schools in the UK, and am planning to work away during my school holidays in 2023, where I hope to meet some wonderful people, work hard and see some amazing places, whilst also learning new skills and benefitting from a cultural exchange.

I am experienced in gardening/house maintenance, decorating/painting, handyman tasks with woodwork and tools, and other practical tasks around the house too.

Ideally I am looking for a two-three week Workaway period to begin with, but this could also be extended.

I have previously lived in house shares so I understand how to live with others and respect people's needs. I also love working on projects with people as part of a team, feeling a camaraderie, and playing a role in something positive and productive.

From my teaching experience I feel I have developed a lot of skills such as:
-being able to work well in a team, being organised and punctual, whilst also being a good communicator. I can also teach English and Creative writing, and Maths if necessary too.

On a personal level I feel I am:
-empathetic, compassionate and supportive whilst also being able to work independently and by using my own initiative.

Other skills I have are that I am a qualified Level 1 Football coach in the UK, and I also play guitar.

As explained in the description above I also have some skills in house and garden maintainence too.
