More details about your skills
I am a former Social Worker, now Barber. Farm girl, raised in the country. Numerous skills, predominantly making something out of nothing. I am proficient at gardening, DIY, animal care, refurbishing, reusing and recycling.
Not afraid of dirt or work.
I bartended my way through university and barber school, I have worked in orchards, landscaped and cleaned. There is little I haven't done over the years. I am not a massage therapist but took a massage coarse and reflexology as well. I trained with a traditional Native healer but it has been some time since i practiced.
I can paint, plaster and refinish antiques and windows. I have done upolstery for myself and others and make handmade quilts. I do leather work and repairs and sew mostly by hand.
I have a criminal record check as I was a volunteer for the Hospital Auxillary in Kamloops BC.
PS I give great haircuts and beard trims!Age
60
What else ...
I enjoy writing and books and movies. I am an omni-vert, in that I love a quiet night of stargazing or tipping a pint at the pub equally.
I am of First Nations descent and was raised in a traditional way. By that I mean in a cabin in the woods without plumbing or electric. We fished, hunted, picked berries and chopped wood.
I am a well rounded person for the experience and consider myself pragmatic and self sufficient.
I have traveled North America extensively, from Mexico to Nunavut and BC to the Maritimes, California, Arizona, New Mexico and more. Death Valley is my favourite so far.
I completed a 3 month cat sit in an Irish country house in West Cork. It was challenging and fun, I have learned a lot about myself in the process.
September update. I am now in France having spent a month each in Northern Ireland and Spain.
2024 update, have spent the winter in Newfoundland and spring in PEI.
Presently in Nova Scotia and loving it!Some more information
