I quit my job to travel, make new experiences and learn. In NZ on a Working Holiday Visa, bought my own campervan (self-contained), currently going around South Island and heading North later on.

Description

Hello, I'm Roman, 29 year old traveller from Germany, trying to fill my life with things more interesting than the corporate engineering job I held before.
To that end I want to learn new skills as well as spend time in different places to experience culture, food, lifestyle and mindsets.
I've lived in China before, where I did a student exchange program for 6 months, as well as in India for an internship. I have travelled extensively, mostly in Asia and Europe, and am open-minded, laid-back, optimistic, confident on my own and happy to try lots of stuff.

I'm generally quick to pick up on new skills, dedicated and attentive.
As this would be my first time to try volunteering, I'm open to a wide range of opportunities, for a time between 1-3 weeks.

I have volunteered (not through Workaway) at a hostel in Malaysia before, doing housekeeping, cleaning and reception tasks.
Other than that I have experience in farmwork, construction and IT, but I would be happy for any chance to learn something new and interesting.
As I love (specialty) coffee I want to work as Barista for a while during my stay in NZ.

Some more points:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, work experience in automotive system development
- Some experience as Barista as well as cooking and bartending at home
- Avid photographer, mostly landscape and stills
- Fluent in English and German, able to teach
- Musician for a long time on drums and percussion, currently learning guitar

I play drums and percussion in orchestras, currently learning to play guitar (have one with me in the campervan)!
I play Volleyball, both beach and indoors.
