Hello! We are Rob and Kat! A self motivated, hard working, professional couple spending our full time volunteering and working abroad with a long term goal of settling somewhere for our permanent home! We have enjoyed Workaway-ing since Jan 2024 and have had some great opportunities with many varied tasks. We have become passionate about looking after the earth that we are on and being as caring, ecological and sustainable as we can be. We are particularly interested in learning new skills that we could utilise for our future; plus we enjoy travelling and "living like a local" in any place we go.
So far our 2025 has braught us lots of joy. Currently we are both teaching English in a small rural village in Cambodia. Previously we have House sat and gardened in the Thai countryside, whilst helping to take care of the dogs at the dogs, and previously we helped to set up tours in a museum in the Thai Jungle. Before this we house and pet sat in the UK, helped maintain a Chateaux in the Pyrenees mountains, and were housekeeping for short term lets at an eco tourism Castle in Scotland.
Rob has experience with general handyman and large and small maintenance tasks, including heavy lifting, light carpentry, roofing, sanding, installing a fence for wild ponies, fell trees, strimming, wood chopping, moving rocks, clearing branches and brambles and much more! Kat has helped manage the changeovers of holiday lets, laundry, cleaning, painting, decorating, gardening and veggie patches, helping to organise future workawayers and volunteers! We have also taken on projects together such as teaching English, house and pet sitting, refurbishing holiday cottages, helping plan, cater and execute events, setting up merchandise for a Workaway host and learning lots of skills!
Rob is currently training to teach English as a foreign language and will need access to wifi to start teaching if possible! (we are getting local SIM cards which may include data so this potentially will not be an issue).
We are keen to get stuck into hard work, whether it be teaching, gardening, animal care, social media/marketing, farming, charity work, housekeeping, property management, companionship care, sustainable projects, building work or more!
Kat has an arts degree (makeup and SFX makeup) with experience as a makeup artist for fashion, TV and film. Rob has a degree in events management, and has also worked in hospitality, events management, marketing, social media strategy, and previously trained those with different learning abilities to get them ready for the work place and next stage of their life.
We are serious and hard working when we need to be, and enjoy exploring new places, being out in nature, and meeting new people whenever we can! Neither of us drink or are party people - we much prefer to put our feet up with a cup of tea after a hard days work!

What else ...
Rob is studying to be a qualified TEFL teacher, and Kat has some online work so we are en route to a digital nomad lifestyle!
We enjoy listening to music, board games, watching films and tv shows, going for walks in nature, outdoor swimming, seeing new places and experiencing different cultures, places, people, and food. Not afraid to try anything (sometimes twice!). Although we do not drink, we are very fun and sociable people who just want to make the world a better place! Some more information
