Description

Hey I'm Reid, a recent computer science graduate looking to spend time in the outdoors and go on adventures! I love connecting with people, learning new things, and having deep conversations about big ideas (I'm not much one for small talk!) I like to spend free time adventuring, creating and appreciating art (music, writing, design...), and imagining new and better technologies that could really help improve our lives.

In the last few years that I discovered how important it is to find a community of people that make me come alive. I've been looking for ways to see the world through the lens of new ideas and cultures, and partially thanks to some linguistics classes, I can't stop thinking about how different languages impact the way people see the world and interact with each other.

I have a 4-year degree in Computer Science from Boston University, and I can be handy in computer networking or anything internet related! I am good at scientific problem solving, and love applying those ideas to engineering and design tasks, so while I am more than happy to help with any chores that need doing, I'm also capable of contributing at a higher level to a variety of projects.

I am fluent in English, and I am a practiced technical and artistic writer. I also have an intermediate (college level) knowledge of French, and a working understanding of Spanish, though it has been a little while since I practiced it. I love kids and teaching, and have some leadership experience, so I would be happy to tutor anyone (of any age) in math, science, or language studies, and more than happy to exchange my English knowledge for practice in another language!

I am an Eagle Scout with a wide variety of practical and outdoor skills! This includes, but is not limited to, navigation, primitive construction, firestarting, hiking, camping, and sailing. I am relatively handy with maintenance tasks, I love cooking (despite not having a large amount of experience). Most importantly, I am a quick learner, and open-minded to any tasks you might have for me.

I love cooking and am always happy to help out in the kitchen, though I have a lot to learn! Creative projects are my favorite, and you can trust me to be self-motivated.
