  • Description

    Hello, world!

My name is Rasmus. I am a peace-loving and fun-loving young man traveling the globe to learn more about myself and to grow. In conjunction with this, I am keen to see how people from different cultures and backgrounds lead their lives, and maybe even learn from them! That is why I am on Workaway. =)

For the last few years, I have been working, traveling, and exploring in Australia, but now I am back in Europe! I have had some wonderful Workaway experiences, staying with different families and communities in Italy, Germany, France, and Australia. This has exposed me to a very diverse crowd of Catholics, Muslims, Krishna worshipers, yogis, musicians, artists, agriculturists, and many other groups that I find difficult to label.

I am currently looking for a spiritually-minded community to stay with for the mid- to long-term during the winter and spring of 2024/2025. I am preparing to study psychology and hope to find a place where I can connect with individuals and the community, while also having time to prepare for the entrance exams.

Like many Nordic people, I have a calm and peaceful nature. I love a good laugh, a bit of banter, and not taking myself too seriously. I am practicing living my life by Buddhist principles, but I am by no means a monk! I'm not a big fan of drugs and alcohol, but I don't judge people who are more enthusiastic about these things.

I love being physically active and spending time outdoors—running is definitely one of my favorite activities in the whole world. I also enjoy hiking, camping, long walks, short walks, medium walks, participating in group sports, and doing arts and crafts. I love reading and listening to lectures on Buddhism, psychology, and self-development in general. I am also a big fan of doing nothing and simply letting things be as they are.

I’m looking to connect with people, families, and communities that are open-minded and keen to teach me their way of doing things. I am eager to learn and to teach if the occasion arises.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you want to work or travel together!

I am quite proficient in English, and even though I have no credentials to teach it, I am open to tutoring to the best of my abilities. Same goes for Estonian, although I'm doubtful about the demand for that (:

  • More details about your skills

When it comes to Workaway, I would be most happy to get my hands dirty and do some physical labor. I especially love gardening and landscaping! If you have some wood to chop, water to carry, holes to dig, or bricks to lay, then I’m your guy! Most of my Workaway tasks have been general maintenance, renovating/building, gardening, cleaning, cooking, and I believe I have almost always excelled in this regard.

In my professional life I have worked in a variety of roles. I have worked as a kitchen porter and as a chef. I have plenty of experience from people facing roles like customer service (waiter, barista) and customer support for IT companies. I have also done some work with social media and marketing.

I love contributing to my surroundings and helping develop the place where I live. I am a quick learner, so you can throw almost any task at me, and I’m confident that I’ll get it done!
