Description
We (Maria, Raoul and our two children, 2 and 4 years old) are a family from Austria who is taking a year off work before the children start school to see the world and to spend more as a family.
Maria is a video journalist who has worked for a major Austrian newspaper for the last twelve years. She grew up in the countryside, comes from a woodworker family and has spent years caring for and riding horses. She also spent 6 months working on different farms in Australia.
Raoul works as a digital campaigns manager for a grassroot NGO. He has worked on all kinds of different projects in the past, from maintaining sailing yachts to working on a solar powered three-wheeler.
Mina (4) is a little daredevil once she warms up and loves to chat and make jokes – she is already practicing her English.
Ilja (2) is a charmer and is very independent, spending hours on little projects and games he invents.
Maria and Raoul both have professional backgrounds in videography/editing and photography and can help out with childcare, cooking, farming, landscaping, social media, writing and teaching (German, English, French…). We love spending time outdoors; climbing and hiking, diving and sailing, camping and spotting animals. We also enjoy movies and cooking.
Foremost we are looking forward to exchanging stories with interesting people, learning from them, showing our children the world and introducing them to new languages and other ways of living.

Maria comes from a woodworker family and has some furniture carpentry and sewing skills and Raoul has helped out in all kind of different project, from working on a sailing yacht in the Caribbean to helping build a solar-electric three-wheeler in India.
We both have a professional background in videography/editing and photography and can help out with childcare, cooking, farming, landscaping, social media, writing and teaching (German, English, French…).
