Description

Dear Work Away Hosts,

I am a happy easy going 62 year old single woman who loves people and travelling adventures.
I am now semi retired working 3 weeks on/3 weeks off as a carer companion, cook, housekeeper for a lady who is 103 years old!

I have a small business called Soul Sisters which offers retreats to midlife women who wish to reconnect with themselves and discover new purpose at this transitional time in life.
I use tarot and journaling therapy to guide people back to their intuition. I love the conversations and opportunities it creates, bringing confidence and clarity to people, empowering them to lead their best life. During these 3 days of the retreat I do all the jobs required: Workshops, Qi Gong , preparing all meals, and a full turnover clean of the property at the end.

When not working, I am free to follow my heart, which leads me to new people, places and experiences. I am currently writing a humorous memoir on my travels and the new experience of mid-life!

When I am home in England I live on my gorgeous narrow boat on the river which involves emptying my own toilet and filling up the water tank by hand which makes me respectful of off grid living. I did a full de-rust, sanding and decorating paint job on my boat last year which took 2 weeks of hard labour :)

I enjoy time alone reading, writing and walking along the river, plus socialising with family, friends and my boat neighbours.

I am always happy to help families, friends and local staff to practice their English conversation skills to become more fluent and confident.
I can also help with ideas on marketing and promotion of your business to tourists, and am an experienced copy writer so can help you with your marketing content and to produce a simple website.

I also enjoy trying new food and learning about growing vegetables - happy to help in the kitchen and garden. Food production, harvesting, preserving are of particular interest to me.

I love music festivals, hiking and yoga, plus reading.
I used to sail regularly and have just started paddle boarding.

One of my favourite things about travelling is staying in hostels and sharing stories whilst cooking with other travellers.

My latest trips have been around Kerala, India; Oaxaca Mexico - learning Spanish - Cuba, Cambodia and Laos, Thailand. In October 2019 I was in Costa Rica for the baby turtle season and saw so many beautiful animals. i spent 6 weeks travelling around Sri Lanka in 2022.
2024 Just returned from beautiful Guatemala :)

I am a competent person, always happy to try my hand at anything. I recently completed a full anti rust and painting project on my 55ft narrowboat.
Marketing, Teaching English, managing/cleaning hostel, tour guide/tourist support, clean driving licence and I love animals so anything to do with them.

My children are grown up and I am enjoying travelling, meeting new people and cultures and experiencing mid life without a road map. I am currently writing my first creative nonfiction book.
