Hello there, my name is Pauline, I am 24 years old and I am from Germany. I travel on and off around the world since I am 18 years old. So I got to know many countries and their cultures. But I want to get an even better insight into the country through Workaway and become part of society. I am studing social work in Germany. I want to help and try to make the world a better place. I am a very spontaneous person, with a great urge for adventure and great memories. I love to get out of my comfort zone to grow and extend my knowledge.

With extensive experience living and working abroad, I have achieved native-level English proficiency. I think english is an very important language. I want to share the joy of that language with other people especially younger children, so that they can recognize how beautiful and important it is. Trough my Social Work studies and various internships i already gained some teaching techniques.

My experiences as an au pair in the United States, Canada, and Thailand were invaluable in developing my English language skills and cultural adaptability. During this time, I also gained experience in planning activities for children and teaching them German.

My six-month internship in South Africa, where English is one of the official languages, further enriched my linguistic abilities and cross-cultural insights. During the internship, I led a variety of workshops for clients, including art therapy, self-defense, cooking, and crafting workshops, such as macrame.

Additionally, my work-and-travel experience in South America allowed me to spend three months enhancing my Spanish. In Peru, I taught at an art school where I applied Montessori pedagogy, respecting each student's individual learning style. My responsibilities included teaching art, English, and sports.

These international experiences have greatly expanded my intercultural competence and global expertise. Alongside my practical experience, my studies in social work have provided me with a strong foundation in human interaction theories, communication, and teaching methods.

My personal strengths—teamwork, creativity, patience, and empathy—are qualities that I bring to all my work with children and adolescents, enhancing their learning experiences.
