Hello, Jambo, Hola, Kaya!

Community and culture are two things that bring joy to my soul and I am searching far and wide to find them. A deep belief I hold is in the power of the people you surround yourself with, and the fulfilment that comes in supporting those people to be the best versions of themselves. I hope to live up to this by being a calm, friendly, joyful and logical person who learns from those around me.

I enjoying embracing vulnerability in the new things I try - such as singing, dancing and writing. I also hold a deep respect and love for learning new things, be it a new language, skill or otherwise. I hope to not only share my love for learning and to teach those around me, but to learn from the community that surrounds me.

I am (was?) a high school teacher from Australia who is looking to learn something from everyone. Teaching is something I am passionate about, and I am very interested in remaining connected with this practice to some degree. I enjoy building safe, trauma informed, supportive and happy spaces for students. I am trained to teach maths, but am open and flexible where needed!

I am flexible, a quick learner, reflective and am not afraid of a challenge.

While I was only able to visit Japheth for a short period, I was inspired by his vision to support the mentally ill in the region. Japheth has well thought out ideas of support that focus on education, individual and community support.

Lydia and her family made me feel safe, welcome and at home during my three week visit. I enjoyed both the variety of opportunities involved during the day, especially the work out on the farm.
