Travelling
Description
Hi! We're a couple from the UK who love reading, creating & meeting others. We hope workaway can help us meet new and interesting people, help them out and learn more about ourselves as well! We're willing to get stuck in to any kind of project as long as the people there are loving what they do.
We're extroverts, love talking to people and learning about their lives, terrible at languages (though try our best!). The things we hope to gain from travelling are a broader understanding of the world and the chance to see things we would not be able to in the UK (animals, architecture styles etc). We're super interested in history, especially folk tales and mythology.Interests

More details about your skills
Hospitality - We have loads of experience working in bars, hotels, hostels and more... We've each worked as managers in bars and hotels and are just finishing a 3 month stint as joint managers, helping a struggling hotel/pub in the North-West of England get back up and running. Since we've joined the place is turning a tidy profit again - we've no more space for bookings until the New Year!
Art/Design - We're both confident and experienced artists. I (Kristie) studied Glass Art at University and have had my work exhibited across the Midlands, London and Yorkshire in a range of prestigious glass galleries.
Oli is a graphic designer and has just finished publishing his first magazine as part of a small collective, he has experience in 3D design as well.
Events - Oli's run events for community groups in the UK ranging from sensory dance sessions to pub quizzes and loves thinking of ways to get people together and sharing memorable experiences.Age

What else ...
I'm really interested in learning about history, not so in terms of war and wide reaching historical events but more in the stories we have written to help us understand life, and live active and moral existences. In whichever place I am I endeavour to find out about and learn the local legends, myths and stories whether or not they are still widely believed.
Games are a super important part of my life and I love to sit for hours and play cards if I ever find a willing opponent(s). I find playing games is a really good way of getting to know people as it creates a space in which we can express many emotions that come up only rarely in day to day life and conversation. Also I'm very competitive and I like to win, but am (mostly) not a sore loser
I love to play sports, hike and swim and not shy of physical workSome more information
