We are Claire and Niels a couple from the Netherlands!
We met during our first year at university, and after graduating and working for about a year, we decided to pack our bags and explore the world! Starting in Brazil with a one-way ticket, our goal is to dive into South America. Both of us are eager to experience different cultures, so we plan to work as "workawayers" to fully immerse ourselves in these new environments.
A bit about ourselves:
My name is Niels, I’m 24 years old and from Utrecht, The Netherlands. I completed my master’s in data science and marketing. Traveling has always been a passion of mine, and after working as a data engineer for seven months, I knew it was time to pack my bags!
I’m an easy-going person who enjoys meeting new people and trying new things. Besides traveling, I’m passionate about running (and pretty much every other sport), reading, anything computer related and music. I even used to drum—don’t worry, I didn’t bring a drum kit with me 😉.
My is Claire and I am 24 years old. Travelling the world has always been a dream of mine. I like to discover new places and emerge myself in a new culture. I have studied HR and have followed all my studies from high school onwards in English, but would now really like to learn and improve my Spanish. I am enthusiastic, motivated and a hard worker, who would love to make friends all over the world. I can teach English and am good with children and pets. While I can cook basic meals, I would love to learn more about various kitchens and how to do them justice.

We are currently working on improving our Spanish. We've taken several courses and have managed to maintain a very impressive (if we may say so 😉) 450+ day streak on Duolingo. Besides Spanish we are fluent in Dutch and English, which we are also willing to teach!

While Niels enjoys analytical work (or any work involving a computer), he also have a creative side, having made artworks with pins and string when he was in high school. Currently, he work as a (statistical) tutor for university students in the Netherlands, focusing on digital teaching. Alongside these roles, He has always been part of the hospitality industry, which he still thinks is one of the most entertaining and rewarding fields to work in. Aditionally he is also good with elderly and children.
Claire has a degree in Human Resources and loves to organize, as can be seen in her colour coordinated calendar. She also really likes to get creative and has sacrificed some space in her backpack to bring a little scrapbook, so getting crafty with kids is right up her alley.
