Hi! I’m Nicole, originally from South Africa, though I’ve been living in England for the past nine years. I’m currently studying Politics at university and would describe myself as hard-working and open-minded, with a strong belief in kindness, and showing compassion to others. I value integrity and am always excited to learn from different perspectives.
I’m new to Workaway, but not to the idea of cultural exchange. One of my most special experiences was spending two months as an au pair in Italy, where I lived with a local family in Tuscany. Sharing our cultures, and seeing life through their eyes made me realize how rewarding it is to share knowledge and connect to others in this way. I left Italy with a deep appreciation for different ways of life, and I love bringing pieces of what I’ve learned back into my own life.

I’m enthusiastic about contributing to hands-on projects and would love to be involved in a variety of tasks. I have experience working with families and adapting to new environments from my time as an au pair in Italy, where I helped with daily tasks and enjoyed pitching in wherever needed. This experience made me more adaptable, attentive, and flexible.
I’ve spent a lot of time around animals and feel comfortable caring for them, and I love to spend time outdoors. Whether it’s assisting with gardening, working on DIY projects, or helping with household tasks, I’m enthusiastic about learning and happy to help however I can!
