I'm an excellent all rounder, hard working, cheerful, easy going, good humoured, diplomatic, tolerant, well organized and punctual....praise indeed! I like early mornings and early nights, reading, writing, nature (apart from the sharp and bitey bits), hiking, cycling, crossfit, yoga, food, cooking, conversation, autumn, hot baths, and looking after things.

For many years I worked in horticulture, in nurseries propagating and growing plants, and as a gardener on large private estates. Following that I worked as a ranger in some amazing places - ancient woodland, heathland, meadow....and as a result I have a lot of practical experience with habitat management, environmental education/interpretation, trail construction, chainsaw operation etc. I also worked around this time as a groundsman for a tree surgery gang, and as a natural history tutor for children.
Recently I worked for a woodland conservation organisation where I was responsible for a number of staff, contractors and a substantial budget. My current contract - working in river conservation - expires in January 2023.
In addition to the above I have experience of hotel, restaurant and hospitality work; animal care (horses, goats, cattle, pigs, dogs); child and baby care; cooking (big passion - quite adept!); household; decorating; IT/computer skills; report writing (including scientific and legal documents); letter writing and project management.
I have full car and motorcycle licenses
I speak basic French
I have an honours degree (BSc) in Environmental Conservation

Although I come across as very confident and outgoing, I can be a little shy in large gatherings and am happier in smaller groups and one to one situations.

I felt completely at home from the minute I arrived - the family are warm, friendly, helpful and laid back. The dogs - Badger and Fang - are gorgeous.
