Currently at home in México City, after three months traveling and sharing with people through Workaway in Europe.
Description
My name is Miriam, I am from Mexico.
I've worked as an English teacher, at a cake shop, as an artisan (mainly crochet, but I like experimenting with any kind of media) and more recently as an illustrator.
You can find some snapshots of my life in my personal instagram account @mina.rtoledo and on my crochet account @_minatoledo_
Travelling and working with others has been one of my dreams for a long time. Right now I have the opportunity to travel abroad, specifically to Europe, and I want to take the chance to find a new side of life by traveling by myself for the first time. Just moving from one place to another seemed quite daunting, then I remembered my teenage dreams of volunteering and that's when Workaway came to my mind.
I hope to share beautiful moments with others, connect and feel the world in a new way.
I love writing, singing, crafting, cooking and creating in general. I'm really patient (sometimes too much, according to my friends) and flexible. I love learning new skills and I'm always happy to help around with whatever is needed.Interests

More details about your skills
I speak fluently Spanish and English. I know (or at least used to know) a little bit of Japanese, Italian, Czech and Romanian. Practice makes perfect and I have not had the chance for practicing languages yet.
I studied Ingeniería en Diseño (Design engineering), which combines architecture, graphic and industrial design.
I know how to work with textiles, wood, ceramics, metal and glass.
I worked at an English academy, I scheduled exams, checked the work made by students on a platform, did some design work for them and was also a teacher for all levels: children, teens and adults.
I love creating, so I've tried different crafting techniques: crochet, bookbinding, macramé, alambrismo, papier maché, drawing, tablet weaving, embroidering... the list is long.
I worked for a year at a cake shop, I helped doing the cake's decorations, cleaning all the baking instruments and serving costumers.
Right now, I have two dogs and eight cats at home, so I had to learn how to keep everything tidy, clean and without conflicts, since my cats and my sister's don't get along that well.
At the beginning of the year I gave crafting classes, teaching others how to make fake stain glass, dreamcatchers and cushions, among other things.
I can cook several dishes, Mexican and experimental would be two adjectives I'd use to describe my recipes.
I tried gardening once, but just managed to grow some tiny tomatoes. I'm sure that with correct guidance I can be helpful in gardening tasks if needed.
Not knowing how to do something doesn't stop me from searching and trying. The internet is a great tool and I use it to help me around any problem.Age
