Description

I am currently on sabbatical from work. I am an English teacher and have taught English for the past 15 years. As much as I have loved being in the classroom, I realised I needed a change. This year is all about change for me and about stepping out of my comfort zone to stretch myself.

I desire to learn new skills and find out what passions are hidden within me.

I enjoy reading and writing. I have recently discovered the writer in me and have been toying with the idea of writing a novel/anthology in the near future. I enjoy keeping fit by walking, running and playing tennis. Listening to music and being in the kitchen definitely create a calming environment for me. I’m looking forward to meeting new people and experiencing new cultures.

I love being outdoors as well as learning new skills. I don’t have a green thumb but love the idea of being taught how to tend a garden.

I used to cook and bake a great deal but I have not had the time and would enjoy learning to cook different cuisines and meals with and for others.

I am a qualified English teacher. I taught English to high school for 12 years and the past 3 years, I’ve been teaching grade 6 and 7 students. I love working on the computer, finding shortcuts in various programs and using technology to make work (and sometimes life) easier.
I’m very good at managing time and creating schedules as this is part of being a teacher. I have also had to be on the sports field at school and have thoroughly enjoyed that.

I took a cooking course a few years back and thoroughly enjoying being in the kitchen, baking and creating new dishes.

What else ...

I recently walked past of the Camino in Spain and absolutely loved it! Walking and hiking has become a new pastime. I love playing board games. I can crochet well enough - I’ve made a jersey, Christmas stockings, scarves, yoga socks and a few more odds and ends.
I enjoy gardening although I’m not sure I have a green thumb but do love being outdoors.

I will be teaching English online during my travels.
