Hello, my name is Melodi, I´m a 21 year old student from Germany, currently living and studying as an international student in England.

I love swimming, reading books, listening to music, dancing ( I used to dance HipHop and contemporary) and I have a passion for photography ( but I mostly work with older or even disposable cameras since I really love the vintage vibe that comes from these cameras ).


Recently, I used to live in a small city in Germany where we have lots of landscapes and forests. I truly believe that nature is good for us and that exposure to nature is good for people’s health, well-being and happiness.
However, Frankfurt (one of Germany's largest, most famous and diverse cities) is only 20 minutes away from my city, which is why I also love and appreciate living in big & metropolitan cities with people from lots of different cultural backgrounds.
Overall, I’ve spent a big part of my life living in huge cities around the world including Europe, Asia and Africa. Therefore, being in a diverse and multicultural environment where I get to meet people from different parts of the world is extremely important to me.


Why I want to join workaway ?

In 2021, I went to Cape Town (South Africa) for a volunteer position in a hostel that I had previously found on workaway. This was truly one of the best times in my life. I was fortunate enough to meet the most amazing people ever and work in a very supportive environment that helped me to expand my knowledge and perspectives on life.

My voluntary work has enriched my life in the best possible way, as it allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of other people and to see the world from their cultural point-of-view.

I think one of the greatest things about being on earth is to meet and interact with new people from all around the world, to share ideas, stories and emotions, to exchange and experience different cultures and to come in contact with nature at different places.

I love travelling, learning new languages and making friends from all over the world , which is why I want to go on adventures that help me grow out of my comfortzone. I consider myself to be communicative and open-minded, easily adaptable to foreign environments. Furthermore, I would like to find people I can support with my work and contributions.
