Description

We are Ayko and Melina, both 22 years, from Germany. Ayko is studying Business Psychology & Melina Sustainable Development in the 6th semester each.

We love to travel and get to know new cultures and places.
In our free time we love to take a walk in the nature to relax but also enjoy reading, cooking, listening to music and playing board games or card games in company.
We would describe ourselves as down to earth, open-minded, curious and active.

We always look for new challenges and strive to learn, improve and grow.
We are animal lovers and try to live as sustainably as possible.

We spent the last two summers volunteering in dog shelters (Spain & Greece) and had the best time of our lives there. The time we spend in shelters showed us how important animal welfare work is and how it changes the lives of so many dogs. We can't imagen a better way to spend our holidays.

We are also excited for new projects and are always open to learn new things.

We spent 6 months working in a dog shelter in Spain and 1 month working in a dog shelter in Greece. We both are certified first-aiders on the dog. Ayko also posses a certificate of competence for dogs. In German, called "Sachkundenachweiß".

To sum up, gain the following skills during our volunteering:
- we have a lot of experience with scared, traumatized and aggressive dogs
- daily business in an animal shelter (Cleaning, feeding etc.)
- we both speak english fluently
- we are flexible, responsible, open-minded and hard-working volunteers
- we kown how to take are of a houshold and garden
