  • Description

    Hello!
Ever since finishing university (social work & law), I have been roaming around the world to not only gain a whole lot of work but also life experiences.

In the Netherlands, I gained my social work experience, working with ex-convicts, children in complicated home situations and victims of trauma. In Peru, I experienced living in a different culture for the first time and gained my knowledge of the Spanish language. In Latin America, I fell deeply in love with the mountains and decided to roam around the Balkans (Europe) for three months with just my tent and backpack to keep me company.
When I moved to New Zealand, I made it my mission to use and improve my horse skills and to start embracing countries rather as a local by working around. I’ve learned the basics of living sustainable and taking care of my own land on a small self sustaining farm, where I completely fell in love with this lifestyle filled with animals. I gained knowledge about dogs in the kennel I worked at and my love for hospitality only grew further - after years of experience in restaurants - by working in lodges.
After New Zealand, I put my new horse knowledge to the test; travelling Kyrgyzstan with my own horse. Living in the wild mountains, camping or sleeping in local yurts while exploring the mountains by horse was an absolute dream. Afterwards, I've traveled around southeast and Central Asia, gaining new experiences and helping with hospitality work around.

Currently, I'm training endurance horses in Argentina and excited to start a new adventure from May to September. A last adventure before going off to go back to university in Sweden!

I am motivated and curious from nature, funny if you like sarcasm and passionate for animals, books and nature. I’ve travelled quite a bit the last years but have still so much to learn, and I’m eager to help out with new projects. Especially now I’m hoping to put my restlessness more to ease and focus on one place/job for a few months at a time.

I am mostly focussed on improving Spanish and German, and learning Polish/Swedish. But I love languages and understanding cultures a bit better this way, just like I'm always open to teach others my knowledge!

  • More details about your skills

I’ve got years of experience in hospitality, mostly in restaurants but recently also in lodges/hostels.
My animal experience goes far back to the horses I’ve always trained, the short period of being a horseback mountain guide, and the 1,5 month I’ve spend travelling through Kyrgyzstan with my own horse. I’ve only worked with dogs for a short while in a kennel, but I’ve got the natural feeling from my horse experience and have always loved these slightly smaller animals. Taking care of farm animals is not my expertise per se but I’ve lived with and taken care of them casually during my time in New Zealand. I mainly just love spending my time working outside and being surrounded by animals.
As a social worker I’ve worked with many different types of clients and I’d consider myself a social person, although I’m definitely someone who enjoys her time on her own just as much. This makes me a great team player who is not afraid to work on a project on her own. :)
