  • Description

We are adventurous, enthusiastic and excited to explore new cultures before committing to University and careers. We want to make meaningful connections, and contribute to diverse projects around the world.

We are both working as Lifeguards through the summer months and are physically fit and happy to take on any task thrown at us - as well as hardworking and reliable. As Lifeguards we have to be resourceful and calm and able to respond to emergencies. We are always committed to giving our best effort and completing tasks on time. Our flexible and adaptable nature allows us to embrace change and work effectively in a variety of environments.

With respectful and positive attitudes, we value clear communication and mutual respect in every interaction. As passionate learners, we are excited to explore new languages, skills, and cultural practices, and are eager to contribute in any way we can.

Living in the mountains, surrounded by sports and adventure he has participated in adventurous sports such as climbing and mountain biking.

Olivia has lived both in the countryside and in cities, growing up she has always been very active, partaking in things like coaching in gymnastics, competing globally in dance and playing for her country in netball and swimming. She has coached children aged 6 to 12 years of age. She has also participated in Duke of Edinburgh Award, this involved is a youth development program with for main sections: Volunteering – helping others or the community, Physical – improving fitness through sport or physical activity, Skills – developing a personal interest or learning something new, Expedition – planning and completing a challenging journey in the outdoors.

We both have experience working in hospitality as both a waiter and bartender as well as qualifications lifeguarding on both beaches and pools, meaning we have experience working under pressure and with a team. Lifeguarding also comes with a first aid qualification meaning we can act in a time of crisis.

We have always grown up around animals (dogs, cats and general farm animals in the countryside of Spain), Mateo has also volunteered in the local wildlife conservation site meaning he has some experience dealing with wild animals, whilst Olivia has volunteered in local marine biology charities dealing with a range of marine life.

Olivia has experience working and coordinating with children as she is a gymnastics coach. At home she enjoys organising and cleaning (yes really!). She plans and project manages. She's a confident user of social media and enjoys writing posts and taking photos. She has a keen interest in marine biology and loves to share her knowledge and excitement about marine life. Olivia also gained skills like resilience, problem-solving, team-working, communication and drive whilst completing her bronze Duke of Edinburgh award.

Mateo has some experience helping children with special needs, as he grew up supporting his younger brother who is autistic and suffers from epilepsy. As a keen mountain biker Mateo has spent countless hours working with his hands. he has built up his own bikes and dug up his own trails to ride. He recently rebuilt a wrecked motorbike, making it roadworthy once again, and has a motorcycle license. In general he is good with his hands and enjoys projects involving building and repairs. He can also produce meals - he makes a mean omelette, Mexican food and spag bol!

Language: Mateo and Olivia both speak native English. Mateo grew up in Spain until he was 8 so has a great accent and understanding. Olivia understands Spanish and speaks when necessary - she's hoping to build her confidence by visiting some Spanish speaking countries.
