Description
My name is Marston and I’m from Lexington, Kentucky. I took off from home mid-way through 2022 in an attempt to break myself out of a cycle and life-style that wasn’t the kind I wanted for myself. What has followed has been a marathon of exploration, healing, personal growth, and the forging of imperishable connections. I hope to continue to see new places, meet new people, and find ways to seek out distinct and exciting experiences.
I have always had some decision paralysis when it comes to choosing a hobby and so I’ve got a wide range of interests that tends to leave me short on expertise but long on enthusiasm. I love nature and most activities that take place under the sky. I’ve hiked and camped all over the United States, and have some experience climbing and mountaineering that I hope will continue to develop. I learned to sail a few years ago in British Columbia and I’ve been trying to get back out on the water ever since. Dreams of doing an ocean crossing someday are constantly on my mind. I also like to write, sketch, read, cook, watch movies, and talk about music as much as I can.Interests

Life at a FarmstayHospitality/TourismMore details about your skills
I grew up in the country and spent my childhood on a horse farm so I’m very comfortable working outside and with animals. I can handle heat or cold and really enjoy a long day in the elements.
Since beginning on Workaway, I’ve worked at two different hostels and have gotten a lot of experience in every facet of the hospitality business, from housekeeping to reception to bookkeeping and reservation management. I’ve also worked a handful of jobs in restaurant and retail settings and am well accustomed to providing quality customer service. I have experience as both a line cook and bartender as well.Age
