Hello everybody! My name is Marie and I am from Germany. I have been studying Social Work in the beautiful Netherlands for the last three years. Due to the pandemic, my exchange in 2021 didn't go as planned.... so I had the chance to get to know WorkAway during this time and stayed in Portugal for a few months. Now I have finished my studies and want to travel again for some time. I am looking for any task you can entrust me with :)

As a people- and animal-loving person, I am looking forward to experiencing everyday (working) life to the fullest with language, culture and everything that goes with it. I am eager to learn about life on the farm and am not afraid to get my hands dirty.

Before I started my training as a nurse, I worked as a volunteer in a hospital. Therefore, I am used to long working hours and new tasks. Afterwards, I studied social work, where I participated in some internships (refugee aid and a sports club for people with disabilities). I also helped with promo work and translations for the university. In the last year of my studies and until August, I work in a youth counselling centre. We regularly offer seminars for young people on social issues.

I want to enjoy the next year to the fullest. I am motivated to learn, so whatever there is to do: I will definitely try and do my best. I am open to challenges :)

What else ...

I can get excited about probably everything. I like to get to know new places, new people, new animals and different ways of living.
I appreciate diversity related to my work/education and my daily life, rather than a strict fixed routine. I am also a very active person, I like to do sports like running, yoga, pilates, cycling, swimming.. you name it. Napping also counts as a sport, right?
I like to get to know my surroundings (people and place) and to get to know different cultures.
