Hello! We’re Lydia and Darren from Ireland 🍀 Last year we decided to ditch our full-time jobs and decided to embark on the trip of a lifetime.
So far we’ve travelled all across South East Asia and Sri Lanka. We are currently in Nepal 🇳🇵
We have experience in hostel volunteering and are interested in all types of volunteering prospects!

Lydia:
I love cooking. Being in such a foodie part of the world has been a gift for me and I’m always open to trying new recipes. Cooking and serving beautiful food to friends and family is special to me!

I am passionate about music and am always looking for a reason to show off an Irish song 🍀

Most of all I love human connection. Because of this, I’m quite open to any task set out to me. If it means meeting someone new and learning a new skill, I’m all for it!


Darren:
I am passionate about all kinds of sports and activities. I am a very outgoing person who thrives in group settings.

In 2018 I travelled to Australia solo and I spent 1 year roaming around the country and fell in love with the traveling lifestyle and also gave me an abundance of skills both socially and practically which I picked up along the way.

At home, I love to host gatherings and parties in our home and know the importance of treating your guests to the best experience possible!

Having stayed in fantastic accommodations and visiting schools during our trip, we witnessed the community of volunteers and workers and how happy the experiences made them. So, we’ve decided we want our own little slice of that life! 🌏

We have previous hostel and Workaway experience.

We have experience in using Cloud Beds and can adapt to any other PMS.

Darren had a successful retail managerial role for several years and backpacked across Australia by working in bars.

Lydia has experience in bar and restaurant work.

From working in a hospital, Lydia prioritises hygiene and so can help out in anyway with cleaning and housekeeping.

We’re both avid cooks and enjoy learning new recipes and further developing our cooking skills.

Lydia has made art for other hostels (see photos) so can help with creative projects.

We’re very social and enjoy all types of human connection, which will provide those around us a very comfortable time!

This can be doubled with our great organization skills, meaning we’ll be able to provide help in social events and anything you may need setting up.

We’re both quite handy so can provide any help needed around the property.

Most of all, we have ample amounts of common sense which will benefit us in approaching new tasks and experiences you require :)

Darren is interested in all types of sport and likes to play games such as pool and ping pong.

Lydia enjoys painting.

We’re both passionate about Irish culture and history and are always happy to teach anyone who wants to learn. This means we’re also very interested in other cultures and learning new things!

We also love socializing with new and old friends over a drink.
