My current goal is to learn about cheese making, in particular, and rural life in general and pick up skills to create something of my own someday. I also enjoy to be in touch with other languages.
Description
Hello everyone!
I'm Luciano from Argentina and I'm 30 years old.
I've been traveling in Europe for the last year. Currently, I am staying in Austria till April 2024. Last year I had the Workaway experience in a few places and now I'm working in the last site I volunteered.
For the last year I worked at my family's carpentry in Buenos Aires. Although I'm not a really good carpenter (but I have some useful skills), I did a few interesting woodworks in some of the Workaways I've been: building a climbing station for goats, making roofs, fixing a couch, etc.
I traveled by bicycle through the area of Patagonia (Argentina/Chile) and Uruguay during one year, until the Pandemic started. I stayed in Chilean Patagonia for a few months collaborating with a volunteer project in a self-sustainable community.
I want to meet people and be in touch with other cultures and maybe learn another language or improve my English (or my German)
I'm interested in getting involved in rural projects, especially if they are related with dairy farms. A few months ago I started reading about cheese making and gradually got more and more interested in the topic. I participated in an online course about cheese making with an Uruguayan cheesemaker. I want to see how people make it (and maybe learn some tips to start doing it myself).
Also, I would like to gain some experience in hostels or hotels. In Austria I'm working at the reception of an Apartments Haus.Interests

Last year I've been travelling and doing workaway. First, I did some things related with rural activity(harvesting and animal caring but also many building proyects. Then, my last workaway (Where I work now) is a kind of hotel. So I'm used to be in reception, talking with guest or preparing rooms.
The year before I worked at my family's carpentry. Although I can't say I'm a carpenter I have some knowledge in that field.
I used to volunteer in events helping to construct the stage and the scenography. I also worked with a couple of filmmaker friends in the (pre)production of their shorts and feature films.
I've been three months volunteering in a permaculture community in Chile, where I learned about green roofs, construction with mud and wood. I also helped there with the harvest, composting and other stuff.Age

I think I learned a lot doing all the different tasks. Since milking goats to building a chicken house. You can also help them make homemade cheese. Sometimes I helped them looking after the little Ferdinand. He is always there ready to play… read more
