  • Description

I’m on a solo trip around the Indian Ocean! I've been packing for a while. I’ve packed my studies in astronomy, physics, and biology alongside my Cuban-collar shirts. I left my books on religion, psychology, and some of history's wisest figures near my glasses case, ready to be opened. My experience with nature and people is next to my trekking shoes, and the backpack itself is light because I want to take it everywhere it’s needed!

I’ve decided to move from theory into the real world by traveling solo to various countries with different cultures and lifestyles. My goal is to connect with as many different people, livelihoods, and beliefs as possible. That's where WorkAway comes in! I was recently introduced to volunteering, and I’m excited to exchange experiences and lend a friendly helping hand to the best hosts on my journey.

I can offer my help with cooking, farm and housework, touring, hosting, and computer work. I am also available to discuss and teach various topics, primarily in the fields of science! I detail these skills in the skills section, and I’m open to schedule a video call to discuss how I can better contribute to your project!

This is just a brief overview of my luggage. However, there are many things I carry that words cannot fully express, and I believe these are often the most rewarding. I look forward to sharing them with you, so please consider my application, and I hope to meet you soon!

  • More details about your skills

Perhaps the most valuable skill is the ability to learn new ones! I always seek a multi- and interdisciplinary path to enrich my understanding of the world and enhance my dexterity. I believe patience, gratitude, kindness, respect, humility, courage, and fun are the core values that guide this process and a fulfilling life.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in the astronomy and cosmology branch of physics. I can offer night sky tours, engage in discussions on various scientific subjects, and speculate on the mysteries of the universe. My studies continued in computational biology, where I contributed to research about how life could exist on other planets. On a more down-to-earth level, I have computational and informatics skills that might come in handy!

Naturally, I’ve always been drawn to nature! It’s hard work, but the rhythm and engagement with life that nature offers bring peace to any sensible heart. Since childhood, I’ve worked on my grandfather’s sheep and goat farm during school holidays. I love working with animals. Getting to know their personalities, playing with them, and enjoying fresh milk!

I’ve gained professional experience in large event operations and catering, honing my organizational, logistical, and service-oriented skills. I love seeing thousands of people joyfully enjoying a meal or show that I’ve spent time and energy bringing to life. The sea also has a special place in my heart! I’ve worked as a dive guide, where providing excellent and safe customer experiences is essential, although marine life often helps me with that!

I’m open to learning a bit of everything to be as useful as possible wherever I go. I believe that honest labor is a powerful way to achieve both joy and personal growth. I look forward to helping you meaningfully in any way I can!
