Description
Hello,
We, Louise, a 23-year-old French girl, and Alex, a 28-year-old Irish/Australian man, are looking for our next experience! Alex just finished his master's degree in history and is eager to learn new skills and travel again. Louise finished her first Working Holiday Visa in Australia and wanted to do voluntary missions again.
About us: We are both easygoing and down-to-earth people and there is nothing we enjoy more than traveling and meeting new people from all around the world and from various backgrounds. We are curious and socially active.
We love learning new skills and putting ours to work. We are two animal lovers and both grew up with animals at home. Louise also has riding experience with horses and can work with them.
We love outdoor activities and are not afraid of hard and physical labour. We can work as a team with others and/or together or on our own, we are independent and proactive and take initiative. We like doing farming and gardening and Louise can even drive tractors.
Louise’s work experiences
I used Workaway before and I absolutely loved it. Through diverse work and farm work in Australia and Europe, I became good at gardening, painting, renovating, and building new stuff. For example, I helped build a new horse stable and camping accommodation. I also did construction work like building a fence or painting walls on buildings.
In Australia, I worked in a crop farm during the busy period of seeding. I mainly drove the tractor and did general maintenance. Every day, I would prepare the mixture and drive to the site. Working long hours doesn't scare me.
I also have experience working in food trucks, bars, and restaurants.
What motivates me is being helpful and doing a good job whatever kind of job it is.
I am mostly an outdoor person who loves fresh air but a mix of being outdoors and indoors is the perfect match.
I grew up around animals of all kinds so I know how to behave and work with them. I have been doing horse riding and competing in agility with my dogs. My computer skills are quite good too.
In June 2022 I got a Higher National Diploma in « Developing and managing rural areas ». This HND involves studies based on the methodology of projects adapted to the rural world, from their conception to their realization up to their assessment. I learned to run different kinds of projects on a great variety of topics involving farming, tourism, environmental, or cultural events. It also allowed me to go to Sweden to do a three-month internship in a national park.
Alex’s work experience:
Alex just finished his master's degree in history and is eager to learn new skills and travel again. He has some knowledge of renovating and building and is willing to learn more about it. Also in his childhood, did some show jumping with horses.
He has a lot of experience with hospitality, he worked in bars and in the kitchen so he is accustomed to working in fast-paced and busy environments and is comfortable engaging in customer service. He loves people and is very social.
Alex’s skills primarily reside within academia and is skilled with in-depth research and writing to acceptable standards. Alex also has a surprising amount of experience within radio and other forms of media and has spent considerable amounts of time volunteering at local radio stations in Western Australia and has even worked for a short duration in the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) in an internship as an assistant producer for Late Night Live ABC Radio National, Sydney.
Upon his completion of his Master's thesis a few months ago, Alex strongly desires to travel the world again and is open to all kinds of work, to experience new things and develop new skills.
Language: Louise speaks French and English fluently, with some basic German and Swedish. Alex is a native English speaker and is learning both French and Russian. We are not against learning a new language.
It would be a pleasure to get to know you.
