Hey there,

My name is Leonie, I’m 25 years old and from Germany. This spring I finished my Bachelor in Geography and Biology. I would like to use the summer months to explore Europe, especially (South)Eastern Europe, get to know the different cultures, meet new people and learn new skills before I start my Master's degree in autumn.

As I am a sporty and nature-loving person, I enjoy my free time with swimming, riding a racing bicycle and hiking - especially long-distance hikes lasting several days. I like gardening and I am always happy to learn some new gardening skills. If I'm not in the mud to go out, I relax by knitting, drawing/painting, or cooking - I love being creative. I also spend a lot of my free time with my friends and really enjoy being around people.
People often say, I am an open-minded, warm, responsible, independent and dependable person. I am always excited to get to know new people or to explore new things.

Since my youth, I’ve had the opportunity to travel abroad and get to know different countries, people and cultures. In 2018, I had my first workaway experience in Iceland, a three-month stay with a family as an "au-pair". It was a very nice experience that I still think of happily. My arms are open for new workaway experiences :-).

I have gained a lot of experience in childcare through babysitting as a teenager, through an internship in a kindergarten in London, through the time as an au-pair in a family in Iceland and last but not least through watching my younger siblings.
I also have experience with handicraft activities, for example knitting, sewing and painting, but also with working with wood. After school I did an internship in a carpenter's workshop where I learned a few skills, but I can still learn more.
Furthermore I have some experience with gardening and working on a farm, as the au-pair family in Iceland had a hobby farm and I also completed a school internship on a farm for a few weeks.
All in all, I like to learn new things and I am said to be a quick learner :-).
