  • Description

Hi! I'm a curious human being of 23 years old from Verona, Italy. I studied Sociology at uni and am now attending a master in Environmental and Resource Management in beautiful Denmark.
Before uni I studied in a languages high school, so I speak a few of them and my passion for language learning hasn't diminished in the years since.
I've always felt a deep bond with nature and animals; since I was born I've had dogs or Nemo-like fishes in the house, and I really can't see life without pets around (I volunteered in a cat shelter, and my workaway experience is also proof of my passion for animals).
As of my personality I am more of an introvert (the 16personalities test tells me I'm an INTJ), so I value alone time and a natural surrounding where one can reflect. Experiencing the Danish lifestyle has been a life changer to connect with others in a chill way.

I've been a workawayer in the past, with a friend of mine, we went to France for two high school summers. There we have worked as painters, farmers, animal carers and discovered the local (mostly rural) culture. We've helped around with dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, horses, llamas and the memories we made are very dear.

In October 2022 I visited Denmark and its breathtaking surroundings - from the island of Als to the tip of Skagen; I harvested beautiful apples trees - the danish national fruit -, took care of a couple of goats and their shed, helped around in the house making food with the garden grown food.

In 2023 it was Austria's turn. I spent the summer in the beautiful hills of Eisenberg, practicing German and helping around in a vegan farm (planting trees, clearing fields, taking care of veggies, weeding, harvesting, using green fertilisers, lawn mowing), with the best company of people.

The best part of workawaying is that I made amazing encounters, with very kind and life-passionate people.

Right now I'm looking for short stays as my university schedule does not allow for long ones (looking forward to summer for those). I would love to spend some weeks back in the Danish countryside to connect with nature and be thrown into daily Danish speaking.

  • More details about your skills

During my high school years I've been school representative, participated in environmental organisations and worked as a waiter. During the pandemic I started volunteering and (now) coordinating an environment protection association; in winter 2022 I worked as an intern for a local administration project on promoting reading activities, taking care of social media and scheduling meetings. All this to say that I developed good organisational skills in the years.
I am a hard enthusiastic worker, neat and precise in the tasks I take on. I worked as a theatre usher, as a waiter, as an IT assistant, and as retail assistant; I take value from every work experience.

As a workawayer I worked with animals (horses, llamas, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, goats), from feeding to cleaning to giving medication, and took care of the organic farm too, from weeding, planting, harvesting, to storing and selling or cooking for the family and me. I made apple compote and juice, and know how to make simple white and brown bread. I had experience making vegan and gluten-free dishes.
I also painted an old school (cleaning the surface, painting, applying water protection agent) and did the cleaning (vacuuming, mopping, etc.) in a hotel for a few weeks.

In my high school years I studied English (C1 level), French (B2), Spanish (B1) and German (B1). I took official certificates for all of them but Spanish. I got to practice mostly English, German, and French because of my stays abroad, but also on a lesser degree Spanish thanks to a job interacting with tourists. As I am living in Denmark, my priority right now is learning Danish and speaking it at every possible occasion; I found great conversation groups where I live which are helping and I am taking classes.

My university degree gave me a wide knowledge of social interactions and the structure of society. I have good statistical knowledge, having done secondary research on materialism behaviour, life course choices, the robotisation of the job market, and public opinion on the role of the British monarchy to Canadians. During my research I worked with the STATA programme. I studied Python too. More recently I started studying sustainability economics, and environmental science, and here agriculture has a big potential to sustain the green transition with conversion of biomass into energy or heat.

I have good technological abilities. I can easily work with the Office system (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and computers in general. I have been certified with the ICDL (international computer driving license).

  • What else ...

Playing music relaxes. I can play the piano and guitar. I used to play the cello too, but lost touch with time.

Reading has been a growing passion since childhood. Recurring genres vary from classics, history, philosophy, sociology, fiction, and fantasy. I have done an internship for 3 months at the local administration promoting reading behaviour in my city, Verona.

I am a fan of board games, chess, drawing, hiking, discovering new music.

I love hiking in the mountains and experience the quiet satisfaction of reaching a high spot.
