  • Description

Hi, I'm Lenya and I would describe myself as a very open minded, adventurous and thoughtful person. I'm not necessarily the most athletic person but I do like to be active and just try new things out! Although my hobbies are mostly what I call grandma-hobbies (e.g. knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading), I would love to do things like hiking, kayaking (which I have some experience in after spending a week in Sweden, traveling only with kayak and camping out in the wild), skiing and more adrenaline loaded activities like bungee jumping. Really, as I said, I'm open to everything.
I also play the cello, which I will hopefully travel with.

I would also say that I'm a quite ambitious person and always like to do my best. One characteristics that is also quite defining about me is that I try have a positive mindset at all times. I never want to give anyone a bad feeling about themselves and I think most experiences you can learn from. I try not linger on bad experiences and instead move forward. I realize this might sound somewhat naïve but I assure you, I also can be realistic at times. I have simply figured that a general optimism makes me the happiest :)

My top priorities for traveling are getting to know other cultures, meet new people and learn French. I had to learn it in school but it was so theoretical that it never interested me😅 I hope that immersing myself in the language will help me learn!

The most important thing for me when working/living/traveling together is good and honest communication. It's necessarily that everyone can speak up when they feel uncomfortable with something or to give constructive feedback.

You will also have realized, I love to tell stories and talk a lot in general :)

I used to work with elderly, disabled people who needed help in their homes. Most of the time this meant cleaning but also putting some things together, some light repair work (though seriously nothing fancy) and simply talking to them. I also did volunteer work where I helped children with their homework in an institution where they get free food and get offered activities. The children usually come from low-income families. I also did an internship a while ago at a kindergarden.

I speak German fluently and know English very well, although I'm better at writing than speaking as I speak it so rarely, but it's nothing that cannot be learned! I know some basics in French but that's about it. I would love to learn more though!

As my hobbies suggest I'm also somewhat good at everything that includes fibers

I’ve also been told that I am a good cook ;)

As a fair warning, I just graduated high school, so I don't have a full reportoire of work experience. However, I'm pretty happy to do and learn just about anything. The only limitations are that I really don't appreciate big spiders and I have very little arm muscles, so if I have to lift heavy things or anything similar I would need some time to exercise first 😂

  • What else ...

I might have mentioned this above but here is a summary of facts that might be interesting before getting to know me:
    - I believe in being kind and in constant self improvement
    - I am rather introverted though I enjoy going out and do new things
    - work wise I am open to basically anything and I would say that I always strive to do my best
    - What I appreciate in others (and reciprocate of course) are good communication skills and when I can learn something from others
